Born in Siderno, Reggio Calabria, he began his career in the film industry as an assistant director and screenwriter. Crea made his directorial debut with Finders Killers (1969), a Western film that contributed to the popular genre of the time. He continued to direct and write for films such as Law of Violence (1969) and Seven Devils on Horseback (1975). Crea's films are characterized by their action sequences and adherence to the stylistic elements of Spaghetti Westerns.
